SSS Wednesday Challenge - I'll Never Forget You

Happy Saturday!

This week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog is all about being square.  Also the sponsor is Simon Says Stamp itself.  Isn't that fun?  So I set out to make a square card using the Stacking Animals stamp set.  I loved coloring in these die cut images!!  I know there really aren't any peach colored elephants....but I couldn't help myself.  I just wasn't in an elephant-gray mood!

Have a great day, enjoy some craft time, and I'll see you again tomorrow.

Your Dual Embossing Powder Questions Answered - Give Thanks

Happy Friday!

Were you able to attend the release party for the brand new StampTV kit last night?  Gina has named it Painted Autumn.  Take a look at what is in this kit:

During the release party some people asked how I combined the silver and gold embossing powders on today's card.  It is so easy!

You ink up your whole design with VersaMark ink.  Stamp the image onto your background paper.  Then sprinkle on either gold or silver embossing powder over part of the stamped image.  Tap off the excess avoiding the areas where there is no powder yet.  Then sprinkle on the other embossing powder color.  It will only adhere to the area that doesn't already have powder on it.  Tap off the excess from this application.  All that's left to do is to heat emboss your image.  Voila - gold AND silver!

You can use any brand of embossing powders for this technique, but I prefer the ones sold by Gina K. Designs!  They heat quickly and evenly and that's what it's all about for me.

Please let me know if you have questions.  I'm happy to reply!

See you tomorrow!

Chicks Rule, Boys Drool

Happy Thursday!

I think when I bought this stamp set from Technique Tuesday, it was because of this sentiment.  It makes me laugh!  But the little chicks are adorable too!  Seriously!  Take a look:

I added some stamped and die cut flowers from MFT Stamps and a Silhouette cut I had made about a year ago to my tag.  That was pretty much it!

And I must repeat: I love that little chick!

See you tomorrow!

Color Throwdown #407 - How R U ?

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for the current Color Throwdown challenge. I love these colors! Don't you? I used the Flourish stamp set from Concord and 9th for my card. I don't think you can tell, but the center rectangle on my card is actually popped up on foam. I wish I could have gotten a better shot of that.

I added the fox (from PaperTrey Ink) and the sentiment and called my card done and all ready for this week's challenge.

Here is the inspiration photo:

You have plenty of time to join in the fun because this is just the first day of the challenge! You can click right here for the link to participate. The designers have created some amazing projects, so be sure to take a look.

You Are My Sunshine

Hello Tuesday Friends!

This little card has already found its way to one of my favorite recipients.

I used mostly Gina K. Designs products to make my card.  Right at the end I added that funny little bird and that strip of paper that was laying on my desk and just happened to be the perfect color.

I didn't color in my birdie at all.  I thought he looked cute all in white!  But I did heat emboss both the sentiment and the backgrounds.  I used the Tiny Textures stamp set to create my embossed backgrounds

The sentiment stamp is part of the current Gina K. Designs incentive set.  Here is what that set contains:

All in all - a very quick card to put together.  I added a few sequins and called it done!

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow.

I'll see you tomorrow AND Thursday night!

Sending Deepest Sympathy

Hello Sunday Friends!

Maybe it's part of being a senior citizen, but so many of my friends are losing people near and dear to them.  Mothers, fathers, spouses, siblings....  This card went in the mail just this week.

To make my flower, I white heat embossed the images onto pink and green card stock scraps.  Then I added shading and a bit of sparkle.  I cut out the images and placed them onto my black rectangle.  I had partially stamped the image onto the black in order to get that little curlicue image embossed.

I finished my card by popping up that rectangle, adding some grey striped paper to the side, adding my sentiment strip and a few enamel dots.

I hope you have a great Sunday...filled with the love and laughter of those you treasure..

See you tomorrow.

SSS Wednesday Challenge - Miss You Friend

Happy Friday!

This week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog is all about borders.  So I made this card with three patterned paper borders on my focal image rectangle.  I love using up scraps this way!

I am sort of in love with black and white right now.  Adding just one color in makes me swoon.  What is your favorite combination at the moment?

Have a great day, make some fun cards, and I'll see you again tomorrow.

Color Throwdown #406 - Hello Friend

Happy Thursday!

Here is my card for the current  Color Throwdown challenge.  I die cut my pineapple onto white card stock and then colored in both the fruit and the "headdress".  You can barely see the original headdress because I added to it with some additional die cut ferns colored in hues of green and pink. I used Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens to create the pretty blended colors.

I chose some hemp twine to add in just a little more of the natural feel to the card.
I wasn't sure at first if I even liked my pineapple, but now I am convinced that it is indeed pretty cool.

Here is the inspiration photo:

Happy Tuesday!

I have a card to share over at the Curtain Call Challenge today.  The theme this time is FLAMINGOS.  Here is their current cute graphic:

I used stamps from both PaperTrey Ink and Lawn Fawn to make my card.  And it all started with a handful of scraps when I made that cute little background for my flamingo.

You have plenty of time to play along too.  Let's get crafty together!

Best Wishes

Happy Monday!

I don't often order from PaperTrey Ink, but when I see a cute stamp set like this....well I can't help it.  Tonight is their release for THIS month and there are a few things that have grabbed my attention, so I will probably give in easily.

Anyway, this is part of their SPLITS collection.  I love that so many sentiments will fit perfectly.  Also, there is minimal coloring, but still so much style!  This stamp also has a matching die, but I'll just use my Silhouette Cameo when I need this image cut.

So have a GREAT day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Color Throwdown #405 - Hello Friend

Happy Thursday!

Here is my card for the current  Color Throwdown challenge.  I was so excited to see this week's colors because I had already been experimenting with the Some Like It Hot stamp set from PaperTrey Ink.

It took a while to get the layering correct on the pineapple, but it was worth it once I did.  So I had the green and yellow taken care of.  I added a light blue water colored background to my tag to incorporate the blue.  I added some black accents as well.  I used black paint to spatter the background, but it shows up purple (who knew?)  Oh well!

Here is the inspiration photo:

You  have plenty of time to join in the fun because this is just the second day of the challenge!   You can click right here for the link to participate. Be sure to take a look at what the designers have created.  I noticed lots of pineapples!!

Guest Designer Challenge - Everything's Better with a Little Bling

Hello Wednesday Friends!

The guest designer challenge over at Ellen Hutson is ending soon, so I decided to enter another card before the August 13th deadline.  I may even try to get one more done.

The challenge is to use an Essentials by Ellen product (I used the You Rock die)  and other manufacturers' products available through Ellen Hutson.  I used products from MFT Stamps, Wplus9, Bazzill, and Pretty Pink Posh.  Here are the products I used with links to the store.

I made a shaker card by insetting the silver gem die cut piece and then backing it with a transparency before building up my shaker rectangle.  I added plenty of gold and silver sequins and it shakes up a storm!

You should enter this challenge too!  You have another few days to play along!

Have a wonderful Wednesday and I'll see you again tomorrow.

You're the Coolest Ever

Happy Tuesday!

See that adorable fan?  It's a Silhouette print and cut file.   It has been sitting in my little die cut pile for a while just mocking me.  Well, today I finally figured out how I would use it.

Thanks to Claire Brennan's stamp set So Cool (available here), I finally had the perfect sentiment and little smiley face.

So, take THAT, Silhouette print and cut file!

Have a COOL day and I'll see you tomorrow!
