Thank you for coming by today for the PaperTrey Ink blog hop. Each visitor brightens my day!
This month's challenge is to create a project using alternative colors for a Christmas card.
I chose lime green, hot pink and black for my color combo. I used two different PTI stamp sets for my sentiment and added some lime Stickles and bright sequins to complete my card. Don't forget, you can play along too. You have all day to create your project and link it up right here.
Happy Tuesday! I know I've been showing plenty of Christmas cards lately, but that's because I want to inspire you to send out some of your own this year. However, I think THIS is a good day to show you a Thanksgiving card. I used a Silhouette cut file for my wreath. I cut it three times and water colored each one in different fall colors. Once they were dry, I stacked them a little bit offset from the layer before and then added sequins and a twine double bow. I then added the BLESSED diecut to the wreath. It is from Simon Says Stamp. And to finish my card, I used the sentiment from the Thankful stamp set available at Ellen Hutson. The card is already in the mailbox and I am hopeful it arrives at its destination before Thanksgiving! Make it a great day and I'll see you tomorrow. Susie
Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a wonderful (and craft-filled) weekend. My card is a very simple one today. I printed the stripes onto white card stock and then die cut a rectangle for my background. I cut and colored my image (it's from Bugaboo Digi Stamps) and mounted it onto a 3D die cut pinked circle. I added a few gems to finish my card and am happy to have one more Christmas card ready to go! See you tomorrow. Susie
Happy Saturday! In the midst of our holiday crafting, we have to remember the "regular" occasions too. So I thought I'd put together a quick birthday card. The images are cuts from the Silhouette Store. I usually cut my images on white and then color them with Copic markers or water colors. Here I used Copics and then a generous amount of Wink of Stella for some shimmer. Have a wonderful day and I'll see you tomorrow! Susie
Welcome Friday Friends! I have another Christmas gift tag for you. Our challenge theme this time is CHRISTMAS GIFTS. Of course every gift needs a tag! At Christmas Stampin' All Year Long we deliver a twice monthly challenge to you and if you play along, you will have plenty of cards all done and ready to mail in just a few weeks now. This time our sponsor is SLS Lines. This is an Etsy Shop and they sell beautiful digital images. The image I used is actually much larger, but I just used a portion of it for my water colored scene. You will want to play along too and you can link up your creation at the Christmas Stampin' All Year Long blog. Be sure to visit the blog to see what our design team has for you and then get to work! You have until midnight December 1, 2015 to link up. Have fun and I'll see you over at the blog.
Happy Wednesday! I just found this terrific JOY cut file in the Silhouette Store. It cuts away every other line and leaves the negative space. Oh my! I love it. I placed shiny gold paper behind the cut out and used foam tape to lift up the top layer. I added some holly die cuts from Reverse Confetti to finish my card. I hope I can inspire you to make Christmas cards this year. I'd hate for that tradition to vanish. Wouldn't you? I'll see you tomorrow. Until then, stay wonderful. Susie
Happy Tuesday! I am sure you can tell that I am in LOVE with these little birds. I know I've used them before, but I just can't help it. They are just TOO cute! Maybe there is someone you could make a card for today....just something to brighten their day. This one went out to one of my dear friends who needs encouragement right now. Enjoy your day and keep being awesome! Susie
Hello Monday Friends! It's my day over at the Eyelet Outlet Blog. All week we will be showcasing Christmas inspiration. The brads I used are listed below. They are bright and cheerful and make a project shine!
It's time for a brand new challenge at Whimsie Doodles! Yippee!! This month our challenge theme is NAUGHTY OR NICE. Of course that means Christmas and sparkles and light - oh my!
I used the Bright image for my shaker card. I am pretty sure he is on the nice list - just look at that smile!! See all of the Doodlelicious Diva's projects on the Whimsie Doodle blog today and you will be inspired for sure!! Then it's YOUR turn to get creative. Click here for all the info on submitting your naughty or nice creation for this month's challenge. You have until December 13th to submit....but why not get started right away?
Happy Friday! I had a different card to share with you today, but this one came together in my head and all of a sudden, it was ready to be shown to you. I was staring at the beautiful cut files I bought from I Heart Studio and started arranging them with some other Silhouette cuts I had made a while back. I decided if I could find an I MISS YOU and a CHRISTMAS sentiment in one, I could complete this card. And I did! I think the set is from PaperTrey Ink. I started layering and adding in little embellishments and I love the way it all came together! And it even fits with this week's Color Throwdown challenge. I've already submitted yesterday's card, but this one is going over too! Enjoy your day and I'll see you again tomorrow! Susie
Here is my card for the current Color Throwdown challenge. It took me a while to get these colors swirling around in my head...but I finally did.
I purchased some cut files from I Heart Studio and that is how my little hill top scene came together. I added the shiny gold Happy Holidays which I also cut with my Silhouette Cameo. Some splatters and some sequins and my card was done!
Today is just the second day of the challenge so you still have plenty of time to create and share your project. You can click right here for the link to participate.
Happy Wednesday! This is day three of the Online Card Class called Holiday Style. Today's classes are about elegant and classic cards. So here is my take on classic. The pink, blue, and yellow-green make me think of the early 60s, or maybe the late 50s. I cut the Season's Greetings cut file from shiny gold card stock to give it a little glitz and of course I had to add some sequins and gold paint splatters! My tree is layered up four high so it has plenty of dimension. The gifts are only one layer and rest nicely on the lower branches. Shout out to one of our instructors, Julie Ebersole who created this lovely stamp set which is called Christmas Scribbles. And now there are matching dies! I am off to create some more cards so I'll see you tomorrow. Big hugs, Susie
Happy Tuesday! I just started the On Line Card Class called Holiday Style. One of the videos showed us how to make a hill with a snowflake border. I didn't have the snowflake border they used, but I did have a snowflake garland, so I set out to give it a try. I am super pleased with the results. I would never have thought to use snowflakes this way, but I LOVE it.
I stamped the background with the Falling Backgrounds stamp from Simon Says Stamp. I also used some of their dies to make the stitched hill and the stitched rectangle.
The rest of the stamps are from the Cool Day stamp set from MFT Stamps. I also have the dies, but now that I am more comfortable with my Silhouette Cameo, I am digitizing all my stamps and making them into cut files as well. This would be a HUGE project if I did it all at once. But instead, I am doing it when I pull a stamp set to use. The sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh and I am calling this card done! See you tomorrow. Susie
Happy Sunday! Here is a quick gift card I made using a new stamp set from Clearly Besotted. The set is called FROM OUR HOME. It is very inexpensive, but I think it really looks beautiful. I did some quick coloring with green colored pencils and then added bling from Eyelet Outlet for the berries. I thought this card would look lovely on top of a shimmery green package this Christmas. I am off to create some more cards to share with you this coming week. See you soon! Susie
Happy Saturday! We've already had the family party for our sweet little grandson, Andrew. But now we are having the "kid" birthday party. The theme is Mickey Mouse and I always get to make at least one or two things for the party. This time I am making the sign to go with the goodie bags. All I can say is thank goodness for the Internet, my Cameo and just a little bit of imagination! See you tomorrow! Susie
Welcome Friday Friends! Here's another Christmas card for you. Our challenge this time is to use some sparkle on our project.. I added Stickles to my Santa and also some shiny sequins to my card front. At Christmas Stampin' All Year Long we deliver a twice monthly challenge to you and if you play along, you will have plenty of cards completed when December arrives which will be very soon now. This time our sponsor is Modes 4 U. This is a store in Hawaii and they have a great website. Be sure to take a look. They supplied the cute Washi tape for my card. You should play along too and you can link up your creation at the Christmas Stampin' All Year Long blog. You have until midnight November 17, 2015 to link up. Have fun and I'll see you over at the blog. Until tomorrow! Susie
Hello Thursday Friends! It's time for November's new release at Whimsie Doodles. There are some ADORABLE new images in the shop now and I believe you are going to love them all. I used the Jingle Bells image from the new release and added him to a Merry Christmas shaker card. When you are checking out the newest images, be sure to take a peek at what all the Doodlelicious Divas have created too! Such a talented group of ladies on the blog today! If you love digis and you love to color, you will certainly be inspired when you take a look. After putting this card together, I realized it was perfect for the current Color Throwdown challenge, so I am sending it over there too. Have a great day and I'll see you right back here tomorrow. Susie
Happy Wednesday! I know it is early for Christmas...but I just couldn't help myself. The entire white part of this card is a Silhouette cut file that I found while looking through the Silhouette store. I placed dimensional tape between each layer and then added some fun green accents from Eyelet Outlet to complete my card. EASY PEASY! See ya tomorrow... Susie
Hello Tuesday Friends! Today is a very special day for our family. Our youngest grandson is now a three year old. He is just the most delightful and joyful boy - and he lights up our lives! So I had to make him a special card to go with his gifts. I even have a sentiment on the inside which is something I rarely do! I can hardly wait for his party later today. I may be as excited as he is! I'll be back tomorrow and I hope I'll see you then. Susie
Happy Monday! Just dropping by to tell you hello and to remind you how much fun it is to actually get snail mail (that isn't a bill). So maybe today you can send a card to someone special, someone hurting, or to help someone celebrate a big day! Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow! Susie
I thought it would be fun to start off November with a turkey card. And this one makes me laugh. Don't you love the sign? Eat ham....ha ha ha. You can find this adorable turkey image by clicking right here. It is from Whimsie Doodles. I found the sentiment stamp and couldn't believe my luck! I added the die cut ampersand in the middle to connect the two sentiments.
I used my Silhouette Cameo to die cut my sign carrying turkey and then I colored him with Copic markers and some Wink of Stella. I stacked the image three deep to give him some depth.
I hope you November is off to a wonderful start. At least maybe you giggled at my turkey!!
Welcome Friday Friends! Here's another Christmas card for you using a super fun die from Simon Says Stamp. Our challenge this time is to make a white on white card.. This was way out of my comfort zone, but I still like the end result. At Christmas Stampin' All Year Long we deliver a twice monthly challenge to you and if you play along, you will have plenty of cards completed when December arrives which will be very soon now. This time our sponsor is Di's Digi Downloads and they are giving away a $12 gift certificate to their store. You should play along too and you can link up your creation at the Christmas Stampin' All Year Long blog. You have until midnight November 3, 2015 to link up. Have fun and I'll see you over at the blog. Until tomorrow! Susie
Happy Thursday! Here is my card for the current Color Throwdown challenge. This is sort of an odd mix of colors, but once I realized I could water color my sky, I was all over it! And I love the soft sky color.
In case you are wondering the wreath is from Reverse Confetti. I cut two and then offset them for a different look. Today is just the second day of the challenge so you still have plenty of time to create and share your project. You can click right here for the link to participate. It is my favorite challenge site! Make it a great day!! Susie
It's time for another color challenge from Eyelet Outlet and here is our inspiration palette:
These colors are just so beautiful together. I found papers with these autumnal colors which became my design inspiration. Next I made my little fall scene using pumpkin and leaf brads from Eyelet Outlet. I decided to make a tag and I love how it came together.
You should play along with this challenge too. Click here to jump over the to the Eyelet Outlet blog for all the details.
Well....once I get started coloring the crazy birds, I JUST CAN'T STOP!
I had this fun print and cut image that I had die cut with my Silhouette Cameo. It was just laying on my desk begging to be used. So I grabbed a crazy bird that I had already cut out and decided the two might make the perfect pair.
I colored the bird to coordinate with both the paper and the floral spray and I think it IS a match made in bird heaven!
Enjoy your day...and be a bit crazy.....it works for the birds!
