Hey Friend

Happy Thursday!

The Color Throwdown challenge for the week started yesterday.  I usually post the very day it begins, but I was away from home all day yesterday and couldn't make my card.  So here is the one I finally made today.  Don't you just love how cheerful this card is?

Here is a look at this week's colors.  I think this is one of my favorite palettes so far.

I hope you will play along with this week's challenge.  You have plenty of time to make something fun.  And remember, you don't have to have the exact colors.  They always tell us to just use the closest match you have.  So have fun and get to creating!

See you tomorrow!!

Thankful For You

Happy Tuesday!

Have you ever looked at a stamp and just knew exactly what you would do with it?  I knew from the moment I saw this cute Meljen's Designs' stamp that it would be pink.  I am sure it would look stunning in other colors....but not this time.  It's PINK all the way.

So in support of my friends who have survived cancer...and some who have not, I offer this card.  I AM thankful for you.

See you tomorrow.

Trick or Treat

Happy Monday!

So here is my next to last Halloween card.  I'll post my final one on Friday.

I used all of the Impression Obsession Trick or Treaters dies on this card and added some fun Washi tape for the border.

I love how bright this turned out even though there is a large amount of black on it.

Have a happy day and I'll see you tomorrow!

Digital Saturday - Week #6

Hello Saturday Friends!

Today's digital layout is one from a few years back.  This is our little Caleb having his first cereal.  His daddy was in charge.  Imagine his mom's surprise at the final picture!  I doubt Caleb really ate Cheerios at six months old....but who knows?

It is fun to look back at older layouts.  Now we have a younger version of Caleb and we are reliving some of this same fun!

See you tomorrow.

Wood You be Mine?

Happy Friday!

Is it just me, or are we all loving the little critter stamps?  I don't have too many, but I just really enjoy coloring them and using them on my cards.

This little scene is from Lawn Fawn.  The frame, wooden circle stamp and sentiment are all from MFT Stamps.  It's fun to mix the different stamp and die sets I think.

Now go be sweet to someone you love and I'll do the same.

See you tomorrow.

You Nailed It

Happy Thursday!

Today's card is actually a do over of a card I made last week.  I replaced a few of the Eyelet Outlet brads and added a new sentiment and then I was finally happy with the card.

I think this would be a great masculine card.  I rarely make them, so I ought to put this one aside for future need!

See you tomorrow with a super fun card.

Soar

Happy Wednesday!

The Color Throwdown challenge for the week is here.  Even though I am away from my crafting studio this week, I am NOT away from my computer....so I am able to still enter the challenge.  I made a digital layout using the hues in this week's color palette.

Here is a look at this week's colors.  Aren't they just so beautiful?

The pictures in my layout are some of my favorites.  They were taken this summer at a nature preserve on South Padre Island.  I love the way the light affected the photos and gave them a soft grey wash.

I hope you will play along with this week's challenge.  This is the very first day....so you have plenty of time to make something fun.  And remember, you don't have to have the exact colors.  They always tell us to just use the closest match you have.  So have fun with this one!

See you tomorrow!!

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Tuesday!

I know it's early...but I was really inspired by this beautiful wreath digital image by Meljen's Designs.  To jazz it up a bit more, the ribbon is colored with a silver Wink of Stella pen and I added leaf brads from Eyelet Outlet to the wreath.  The dimension on the wreath is spectacular in person!

I used an embossing folder on my background paper and then die cut a circle so that my wreath image would be inset into the background.

I hope you like today's bright Thanksgiving card.

I'll be back tomorrow with a new project to share with you.

BOO

Happy Monday!

It's time for another Halloween card!  And of course it's a shaker filled with orange seed beads.  I have at least a million seed beads, so this is a great use for them.

I used the first tag die from Pretty Pink Posh and some spooky eye brads from Eyelet Outlet to make my card.

I guess next Monday will be my last Halloween card for 2014....but then we can move on to lots of fall and winter cards.  Woo hoo!

See you tomorrow!

Digital Saturday - Week #5

Happy Saturday!

Do little baby tummies ever stop being adorable?  Here is our little Andrew with his precious little tummy showing.  The family had gone to Great Wolf Lodge and all of the pictures turned out great.

This picture happens to be one of my favorites!  It is going in the annual photo book I do for my grandsons.  I am a bit behind (of course), but I WILL catch up.  They love looking at their photos and it is also a great point of reference for all the fun things they have done.

I will see you tomorrow, so come on back.

Special Delivery

Happy Friday!

Here is a card I made using just items that had been cut and stamped previously.  I have a small container where I put little embellishments that I've already created, but don't need just yet.  Sometimes they never make the cut and get discarded, but others make a new card shine.

So except for the background, everything on my card was in that little container.  I really had fun making all these elements work together.  Do you ever do this?  I am always curious about other people's artistic process.

Have a creative day!!

Sweet Wishes

Hello Thursday Friends!

I was watching a video on YouTube the other day and I saw Jennifer McGuire making some cute tags.  I don't have the die that she used so I just cut a few sheets of white stitched rounded rectangles using my Cameo. Then I cut some tags using blue, green and red card stock.

I had just purchased a new stamp and die set from Lawn Fawn and I knew right away it would make super cute tag accents.

I stamped the cookie jar onto four tags. I used a medium grey marker to color in each jar in its entirety.  I also stamped the sentiment onto each tag. Then I stamped and die cut four more cookie jars. You can see how I colored each above.  It was an easy coloring job - a little red, blue and grey.

I popped up each cookie jar using a pop dot.  The grey colored jar below provides a lovely shadow.  I punched a hole in each set of two tags and tied them with baker's twine.

This was such a fun project. Here is a link to the original video I saw:

Surrounded by Family...

Happy Wednesday!

The Color Throwdown challenge for the week is here.  I just plain love this challenge blog!  This week's colors are ones I would not have thought to use together, but somehow they work.  It is so much fun to have my creativity stretched with varied color palettes.  Just a note about those cute dies - the houses and the stitched slopes are both from Simon Says Stamp's newest release.

Here is a look at this week's colors.  I loved using them on my card.  They are just so sweet and calming.

I hope you will play along.  This is the very first day....so you have plenty of time to make something fun.  And remember, you don't have to have the exact colors.  I think mine are a bit brighter, but they always tell us to just use the closest match you have.  So have fun with this one!

See you tomorrow!!

Your Hard Work...

Hello Tuesday Friends!

Today's card is one of two that I made using this paper and design.  I will show you the other one next week.

I don't think you can tell from the photo, but the dark grey paper is really glitter paper.  I thought it would be fun with the shiny tools (all from Eyelet Outlet).

I think this card could be either masculine or feminine....and that's a plus.  I just don't have a lot of masculine cards in my stash!

So have a great day.  See you right back here tomorrow.

Happy Halloween

Hello Monday Friends!

Since the first of October, I have been able to bring you a Halloween card each Monday.  So I didn't see any reason to make an exception today!

Remember that ballerina silhouette from last week?  Here are the other two cuties in the die set from Impression Obsession.  Aren't they adorable?  I paired them with the HAPPY die cut for the top of my card.  Then I just built the rest of the card around it.

My banner is from My Favorite Things.  It is really a longer banner, but I just cut a portion of it for my card. I love when dies are versatile like that!

So have a happy Monday and I'll see you right back here tomorrow.

Digital Saturday - Week #4

Happy Saturday!

I couldn't wait to share this layout with you.  These are my super sweet grandsons from just six months ago.  Oh my goodness, how they have changed!  The older one is a grown up kindergarten student now and the younger is a rather rambunctious almost two year old.

I can't imagine not documenting their lives.  They own my heart....and my scrapbooks too!

Take care and I'll see you tomorrow.

You Make Life Sweet

Hello Friday Friends!

I hope your week has been wonderful.  Heading into the weekend has to be good news now!

I used two different stamp and die sets for my card today.  Both are from My Favorite Things Stamps.  I have to say I LOVE these flowers.  They are cut from felt and have enamel dots for centers.  And how cute is that mason jar?  Oh my!

Have a fantastic day and I'll see you tomorrow.

Thanks For All You Do

Happy Thursday!

Don't you just love it when a card comes together quickly?  I think it happens to me right after I spend two hours on the previous card I just finished.  It's probably my subconscious telling me to pull it together!

So this is one of those cards that came together in a snap.  The Thanks On A Line die is from Simon Says Stamp,  It had been out of stock for a while, so I was thrilled when I was able to get it a few weeks ago. Next time I use it, I am going to try a die cut inlay technique.

The Fresh Cut Flowers die is from My Favorite Things Stamps.  It is part of a really large set.  For this card I cut felt and foam with it and had no problem with either medium.

I figured out the placement for the die cuts and the rest was easy - some glue and one stamp from Avery Elle called Handwritten Notes.  Done!!

See you tomorrow!

Too Cute to Spook

Happy Wednesday!

The Color Throwdown challenge for the week is here and that makes me H-A-P-P-Y!  I found a set of three dies that are of little trick or treaters in silhouette and just fell in love with them.  This is the first card I made using the dies.  I just used one here....but next Monday I'll have a card using the other two.  I couldn't resist making a shaker card with the little ballerina inside the shaker.

Here is a look at this week's colors.  I loved using them on my card.  They are just so bright and cheerful!

I hope you will play along.  This is the very first day....so you have plenty of time to make something fun.  And remember, you don't have to have the exact colors.  Just use the closest match you have and then join in the fun!

See you tomorrow!!

Gift Bag - For You

Happy Tuesday!

I had my Silhouette out the other day and I started thinking about gift bags.  I wondered if I could modify a cut file to suit my needs.  And the answer was YES.

This was a pretty basic cut file, but I wanted it shorter and to also have a little cut out "handle".

I was able to make it work after a few failed attempts.  So I saved the file and now I can make as many as I need in the future.

I grabbed a few die cuts from my "little box of already cut out dies" and added the sunshine, the doily and the YOU.  Easy peasy!  I do love when a plan comes together!

See you tomorrow.

Happy Halloween

Happy Monday!

I thought it would be fun to start the week off with a Halloween card for you.  And of course it is a shaker!

The fun part about shakers is that you can fill the shaker with many different items.  This time I built a little scene with the moon and stars.  But I wanted more!  So I added some Mini Spider Brads from Eyelet Outlet to climb all over the die cuts.  THEN I added my sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and a few seed beads to finish the card.

I hope you have a WONDERFUL day and I'll see you tomorrow.

Thankful for Your Friendship

Happy Thursday!

Today's card is a shaker card embellished with two friendly Eyelet Outlet Bright Owl Brads.  Don't they just make the perfect addition to that die cut wreath?  They come in a package of eight in four colors...but these orange and green ones were perfect for this card.  Don't be afraid to use your brads in unexpected ways.  It will have your card recipients wondering how you became so darned creative!

I used the Winter Wreath die from MFT Stamps to cut the wreath from three card stock colors.  I just stacked them up and the wreath was perfectly full.  Of course my shaker is filled with sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.  They are just a delightful company with so many beautiful sequins (and dies, oh my)!

See you tomorrow - and please know that I am thankful for YOUR friendship.

Get Well Soon

Happy Tuesday!

I hope none of you need this get well card!  But when I bought this Kim Hughes die from Simon Says Stamp, I knew I needed some of these cards in my stash.

I had colored the Lori Boyd image quite a while back and waited for the perfect card and this one proved to be it!  The heart was just the right size for my SOON stamp! Lori is a sweet friend and awesome designer.  I hope you will visit her site.  Click right here to take a look. Her images are really fun to color and are all super cute!

So stay well and I'll see you right back here tomorrow.
