Happy Bird-day

Happy Friday!

I told you I'd be back with some more of these adorable flamingos from Reverse Confetti.

I noticed they were having a color challenge, so I thought I would jump right in.

The challenge colors are navy, red and gold.  It took me a few times to get the card the way I wanted, but I am happy with it now.

Gold does not photograph very well, so it was a bit tricky to get a good picture.  I wonder if there is a trick to it.....

Here is the inspiration photo if you want to play along:

Have fun with the challenge and I'll see you tomorrow.

Sending Lots of Love

Happy Thursday!

Well, it's official.  I just can stop using the Scribble Flowers stamps and dies from Simon Says Stamp.  I am hopelessly in love with them.

This time I just stamped the black outlines of each flower and leaf and then used the dies to cut them out.

The papers are from Bo Bunny's Baby Bump 6x6 pad and
the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.

I am getting in right at the end of The Cutting Edge Challenge #8.  I've been wanting to play along since they started.  So here is my first attempt.

And here is the inspiration photo:

Have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow!

You are my Sunshine

Happy Wednesday!

The Color Throwdown challenge for the week is here.  I knew right away that I was going to use the same stamp set that I used yesterday.  I just love these Scribble Flowers from Simon Says Stamp!  I did a faux watercolor technique using distress inks and water.  It was a bit messy, but the stamp set lends itself toward that.  I just love how the black lines are offset, making these posies so very whimsical and sweet.

So here are this week's colors.  They are so vibrant and I am sure
everyone's cards will be beautiful!

Remember, you don't have to have the exact colors.  They want you to use the closest match you have.  So join in the fun!!

See you tomorrow!!

Hi - Tag You're It Challenge

Happy Tuesday!

I've been wanting to enter the Tag You're It Challenge since it started a few months ago.  Today is the day!  I am really excited!!

The rules are pretty simple.  They show an inspiration tag and we get to decide how it inspires us and then make a tag using that idea.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Flower Scribbles stamps and dies for my flowers.  And my inlaid HI is from MFT Stamps.

I am not used to working with anything messy, but I wanted to try this faux watercolor technique using Distress Inks.  It WAS messy (for me anyway) and it took three tries, but I really do like how it turned out.  (My good camera is out on loan.....it is prettier in person.)

So here is the challenge tag:

I was inspired by the inlaid sentiment and the flowers.

Have a wonderful day and I'll see you tomorrow!

Thank You - PaperTrey Ink Blog Hop

Happy Monday!

Thank you for coming by today for the PaperTrey Ink blog hop.  I would love it if you joined my blog while you are here.  I promise you will see a new creative project each day!

This month's PTI challenge is based on a photo posted on the blog.  Nichole said we could use whatever inspires us from the photo, so this is my card.  I was inspired by the gold embossing and small stamped sentiment.  I couldn't get a great picture of my card and envelope, but I promise the gold embossed sentiment, wooden arrow and heart are super sparkly with gold embossing powder.

Don't forget, you can play along too.  Just create your project and link it up right here.

Here is the inspiration photo so you can get right to work on your project too:

I hope you have a great Monday.  I'll see you tomorrow!

Happy Birthday to You

Happy Sunday Friends!

It's time for this week's Cupcake Inspirations Challenge and today we have a fun theme challenge for you. We are all about parties this week.  I went for the birthday party theme for my card..

We are sponsored this week by Freckled Fawn.  They have some great embellishments on their site - really cute wooden pieces and LOTS of Washi tape.  The Washi tape on my card is from their site.  Isn't it the cutest?

What will you come up to share with us this week?  Be sure to make a plan to play along with us.  You can click here for the link.

See you tomorrow!

Happy Thoughts

Happy Saturday!

I was cleaning up my stamp supply (I have too many) and I found this little cutie.  I don't even know who the artist is or how I got the stamp - oh my.  But I just couldn't resist coloring her in some super fun and bright colors.

And then of course I had to use the image in a shaker card!  I am hopelessly hooked on shaker cards.  It's the truth.  Oh well, I love them and have enough sequins to make about a thousand more shakers!

I used two of the stacked rectangles from MFT Stamps to make my shaker frame.  It is really easy to cut the shaker all at once by lining up the rectangles and cutting them just once.

I wanted to enter this card in a challenge and here is the one I chose:

http://prettypinkposh.com/2014/08/cutting-edge-blog-hop.html

I just love Pretty Pink Posh - and to prove it, I loaded up my shaker with plenty of Pretty Pink Posh sequins!  Click here for the link to the hop.
It should be great fun!!

I hope you have a wonderful day and I'll see you back here tomorrow!

The Proposal

Hello Friday Friends!

I love Fridays because it is the day that new Jenni Bowlin product is released at Snap Click Supply!

This is the sister website to Jessica Sprague where so many beautiful products are for sale.  If you haven't seen the site yet, be sure to take a look today.  It is worth the trip!

I used the brand new Jenni Bowlin Morning Mist kit for my layout.  I used masks to soften up all the papers and I just LOVE the look.  The wonderful advantage of digital is that you can make papers and elements any saturation or even color!  The colors you see in my layout are much more muted than the original kit colors.  Be sure to check out the kit....
you will love it.

New releases are always 20% off during their debut weekend, so be sure to hop on over to  Snap Click Supply and take a look!

See you tomorrow.

Hello

Happy Thursday!

Color challenges to the rescue!!

A few weeks ago, there was a color challenge for which I made two different cards.  I decided to use the other one for that challenge.  The colors were grey, aqua and red.  So...here is the first card I made, but didn't use.

I paper pieced and colored my little MFT Stamps Pure Innocence girl and then just went through my 6x6 pads to find some papers I wanted to use.  Knowing the colors I needed really helped me find the right papers quickly.

I love color challenges because I often would never think to use the week's palette, and then I LOVE the results.  I even like to go back to old ones for inspiration.

Have a wonderful Thursday and I'll see you tomorrow!

I love this stamp and die from MFT Stamps.  I had big fun coloring the sweet girl and some little embellishments.  And then I was able to die cut them all.  SWEET!!

Sending You Lots of Love

Happy Tuesday!

I am still loving the shaker card fad.

On this one, I used a die from PaperTrey Ink and cut it numerous times to make all the parts and pieces.

I added just a small piece of patterned paper behind the shaker and stamped LOTS OF LOVE on it before adhering it.

I've been also falling in love with wooden arrows lately, so I had to add one here too.

Enjoy your day and I'll see you tomorrow.

Carpool Notes

Happy Saturday!

The other day I showed you some cute tags using brads from Eyelet Outlet.  While I had them on my desk, I got inspired to make one more project using these adorable car brads.

I gave this notebook to my daughter.  She has a kindergarten boy now, so she can keep this in her car to scribble down notes while she waits in the car line.

Have a wonderful day and I'll see you tomorrow!

Whatever You Are, Be a Good One

Happy Friday!

A few days ago, this week's The Color Throwdown challenge was announced.  I made my card right away, but had a few other creations I needed to post first.  So today's card is my take on the beautiful color palette below.  What a fun mix of colors!

I love this sentiment stamp from MFT Stamps.  I like that there are so many different ways there are to color and embellish it.

Remember, you don't have to have the exact colors.  They want you to use the closest match you have.  I never have the exact colors, but I always play along...and you should too!

See you tomorrow!!

Birthday Tag x 2

Happy Thursday!

If you have kids, or are a grandma like me, you know you always need birthday gift tags.  I made the first one using Eyelet Outlet Truck Brads.  I just adore the yellow and black.  It was a challenge to find sentiments small enough for my little windows, but I did succeed.  I added some Eyelet Outlet  Enamel Dots to the top of the tag to tie everything together.

Then because I have just as many granddaughters as grandsons, I went ahead and made another tag using our Pony Brads.  Can you say adorable?  I added some gems along the top and am stashing
these tags away until needed (very soon).

Have a wonderful day and I'll see you tomorrow!

I've been working on our January Disney vacation book and am nearly done.  I thought this picture from Epcot would be perfect on a neutral layout.  I used the Jenni Bowlin Magpie Collection kit to create this layout.

The kit is on sale today for half price ($3.50). Take a look at this kit -
you will love it!  I promise!

Thanks

Happy Tuesday!

I've been wanting to see if I could make a shaker card using a wood veneer embellishment and the answer is YES!

It was a little tricky to cut strips of adhesive thin enough to go around the edges of my wood veneer piece, but it worked like a charm.

I have some more of these little guys, so expect a few more shaker cards soon!

See you tomorrow!

Happy Birthday

Happy Monday!

Today is one of those Mondays I get to play along with PaperTrey Ink's Make It Monday challenge.

This week's challenge was WAY out of my comfort zone.  We were to use embossing paste.  Of course I HAVE embossing paste - actually in a few colors - but have never used it.

Anyway, I watched the video and decided I could do it.  I colored my white embossing paste using two colored ink pads and then applied it over the stencil I made using a PaperTrey Ink cover plate.  I decided to sprinkle a bit of glitter over the top before it dried for a bit of sparkle.

I added my die cut sentiment and a few sequins to finish my card.  It was fun to make this card even though I had NO idea what I was doing!

Watch the video and you will be enticed to try this technique too.  You have all week to play along with the challenge at PTI.   Click right here for the link.

See you tomorrow.

What Makes You Different

Happy Friday!

I don't know what to say about this card.  These Fabulous Flamingos just make me giggle!  The stamp set and matching dies are from Reverse Confetti.  I knew I needed them the moment they were released!  And the pink, aqua and black are such a fun combination!

I am very spatially challenged, so it took me forever to figure out those legs...but I finally got them right.  Whew!  I can't wait to stamp some more of these guys.  Stay tuned!

Click right here to see this cute set from Reverse Confetti.

Enjoy and I'll see you tomorrow!

Get Well Soon

Happy Thursday!

I had been waiting and waiting for this tag die from Pretty Pink Posh to come back in stock.  One lucky night, I noticed it was in the shop again!  I ordered it right away - I didn't want to miss out again.  I just checked and it is sold out again. It is a super popular die!!

I made about five projects using this die right away.  I couldn't help it!  And I have another dozen ideas in my head!

My little icons and sentiment are from a Lawn Fawn stamp set called Get Well Soon.  I even have the matching dies. SO cute!

Have a wonderful day and I'll see you tomorrow.

Love You

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for The Color Throwdown challenge for the week, so I have a card to share with you using the new color palette.  I actually made two cards using these colors, but this one is my favorite.  I LOVE this challenge color palette:

I just bought some wooden embellishments and have been wanting to use them, so my sentiment was the perfect place for this little wooden gem.

Remember, you don't have to have the exact colors.  They want you to use the closest match you have.  I never have the exact colors, but I always play along...and you should too!

With Sympathy

Hello Tuesday Friends!

I hope your week is going well for you so far.

No one likes to have to send sympathy cards, but since sometimes we have to, I thought it would be good to have one or two on hand.

I embossed my pink background using a Teresa Collins embossing folder.  Then I die cut a Stripes Cover Up from MFT Stamps using some deep purple card stock..  I sliced out a few of the stripes to accommodate my die cut sentiment (from Simon Says Stamp) and then added a few soft flowers.

I am going to use this WITH SYMPATHY die again soon, so I'll be sure to show that to you too.

See you tomorrow.

HAPPY Birthday

Happy Monday!

Today is one of those Mondays I get to play along with PaperTrey Ink's Make It Monday challenge.

This week's challenge is to use a non-border die on the edge of a card.  I actually made a tag instead of a card.  This HAPPY die is one piece and fit perfectly with this challenge.

I also opted to enter this in the Stretch Your Stamps 2 gallery.  In class today, we learned how to get some extra mileage from background stamps.  Both my border and anchor are stamped and embossed using a
large background stamp,

JOY

Happy Saturday!

I've been working on some cleaning and organizing,  which is something I do pretty often.  I came upon this piece of paper and chipboard pieces and remembered why I bought them.

So I stopped organizing and put this banner together.  When I planned it, the word in my mind was SPRING, but that has long passed, so I went for JOY.

I didn't do anything fancy.  This is one piece of 12x12 paper, five chipboard pieces, some sticker letters and three flowers from my stash.

And now it resides in my craft space and reminds me to be joyful.  SCORE!

See you tomorrow.

How did we get to August already?  Are vacations over? Is school starting again?  Oh my!

Just in case you get to go on a few more trips this summer, here is a card for you. This stamp and die set is from PaperTrey Ink.  I fell in love with this idea the moment I saw it!

Enjoy your trip...wherever you get to go!

Friends Are Special Treasures

Happy Thursday!

It's time for The Color Throwdown challenge for the week, so I have a card to share with you using the new color palette.  I wouldn't really think to use this week's color palette together, but then I saw this patterned paper, and it actually has ALL the colors in it.  So I guess it's a natural after all.

My sentiment is actually a rub on.  I've been trying to use my stash on cards, and if it's a rub on, I'm sure I've had it for a while!  But it worked so perfectly, so I am glad I saved it.

Here is the color inspiration for the week. And remember, you don't have to have the exact colors.  They want you to use the closest match you have.  I never have the exact colors, but I always play along...and you should too!

I'll see you tomorrow!
