Hello

Hello and Happy Sunday!

I bought this stamp set earlier this month from MFT Stamps and just now found a spare moment to use it.  I LOVE these sweet flower images.  I plan to color them again in fall colors and see if I can make that work.

I knew I was going to make this a diagonal design, but it wasn't until I got ready to assemble the card that I decided to slice my colored panel and insert a black accent.  I have to say, I LOVE the way it came together!

I hope you have a fantastic day.  Then I will see you right back here tomorrow!

Digital Saturday #29 - Halloween 2014

Happy Saturday!

I am still working on my grandsons' 2014 book, so here is a layout from last October.  These boys are so lucky to have pals with whom they love to play.  Halloween trick or treating was just one more reason to get together and have some friend time!

Have a wonderful day and make some memories to share!

See you tomorrow!

On This Special Day

Happy Friday!

How did Friday get here so quickly?  I guess I've been just busy enough that the days have flown by.

I've been playing with my Minc Mini that I bought from HSN.  It came with lots of foil paper, glitter paper, toner paper and embellishment packs.  I've been foiling like crazy - because it's just plain fun!

The little tag was part of the kit and I foiled it in gold.  I die cut the butterfly from toner paper and then foiled it in gold too.  I thought this would make a lovely wedding or even birthday card.  We shall see!

Have a wonderful day and I'll meet you here again tomorrow.

Cast All Your Cares Away

Happy Thursday!

My little Pure Innocence cutie has a broken arm.  But at least she has a lovely purple cast!  This card was a special order for a friend of mine.  She has a little friend who broke her arm and she asked me to make a card like this for her.

Not sure I really knew how to make a purple cast, but I gave it a shot.

I do hope she gets well soon.  Two years old is just too little for a broken bone!

Until tomorrow,

Color Throwdown #357 - Blah Blah Blah

Happy Wednesday!

I get to share my Color Throwdown card on the very first day of the challenge and that makes me happy!  I had a marathon creative day yesterday and finished this card just in time to photograph it in good light.  Even though this is a really simple card, I just love the color combination and the way the card came together.

I did a little bit lighter version of this week's colors, but they always tell us to use what is close if we don't have exact matches.

So here is this week's color palette:

In This House...

Happy Tuesday!

I've been working on a few decorative items for my new studio lately.  Here is one I finished just this week.

I purchased the slats at Home Depot.  I forget what they are called, but they are sold in a big bundle.  I painted the slats white and then mounted them to a piece of plywood that is painted the same color as my studio.  Turns out, the background barely shows.

Then I used my Silhouette Cameo and some Cricut Gold Vinyl to cut all of my phrases.  I set them up according to the width and length of my slats, so I knew everything would fit.  I used a wonky font just in case I got things a little off center.

The last part was just placing the words on the slats and I was done! Easy Peasy.

Do you use an electronic die cutter for your projects?  I am using mine more and more and loving it!

See you tomorrow!!

Have a Happy Day

Happy Monday!

Today's card is brought to you by scraps sitting out on my desk.  I can't tell you how long these scraps sat out...but it was more than a few days or weeks.  The floral border at the bottom of my scene was just a small piece that was left over from an earlier stamping project.  The fence was something I planned to use elsewhere, but didn't, and the bird was one of many I had colored, but not used yet.

Is it weird that this is a favorite of mine?  No planning?  Oh my!

That's it for today.  I am off to create more cards to share with you.

See you tomorrow!

We Belong Together

Hello Sunday Friends!

I thought I'd share another card using some more of the New Eyelet Outlet brads.  Here are some of the new cute donut brads....all frosted and sweet!

I paired them with a Lawn Fawn stamped and die cut carton of milk.  YUM!

Have a sweet and wonderful day and I'll see you tomorrow!

Digital Saturday #28 - December Fun

Hello Saturday Friends!

I've been working on the Steele boys' 2014 book.  I really am NOT at the end of the year....I am just working on whatever layouts I want.  Eventually, they will all get done!  I actually only have thirteen to go and then I can get my book printed!

Pictures with Santa are always a mystery.  It just seems they should always be perfect, but they sometimes just aren't!  At least we had one smiling boy in this year's picture!  Oh well.

See you tomorrow.

CSAYL Challenge #54 - 'Tis the Season

Welcome Friday Friends!

Here's a fun Christmas card for you using an image from Broken Box who is our sponsor this week.  They have lots of free clip art and digital stamps in their shop.  There are also some images that you can purchase.  The one I used was actually a freebie.

At Christmas Stampin' All Year Long we deliver a twice monthly challenge to you and if you play along, you will have plenty of cards completed when December rolls around again. And it will be here before you know it!

This particular challenge is FOLDED CARDS!  I found this cute screen in my Silhouette Cameo images and cut it out from card stock and then added the pink panels. My little sweetie is on an Action Wobble and she is standing on some snow made from Flower Soft.

You can link up your creation at the Christmas Stampin' All Year Long blog.   You have until midnight September 1, 2015 to link up.  Have fun and I'll see you over at the blog.

Until tomorrow!

Color Throwdown #356 - Celebrate

Happy Thursday!

I'm sharing my Color Throwdown card with you today. This week's colors are very versatile. At first I thought about Halloween, but then decided on something less obvious.

Get Well Pinwheels

Happy Wednesday!

Just a quick post to show you a pinwheel bouquet I made last week for a friend who is convalescing in a care center right now.  She loves purple, so that was an easy color choice.

I will be visiting her again today, and I bet these pinwheels will be as fresh as they were when I made them.  I love making these instead of bringing flowers that are beautiful, but fade so quickly.

See you tomorrow!

Big hugs all around!

HELLO

Happy Tuesday!

Today's card is a combination of old and new.  The floral stamp set is an older one from Simon Says Stamp.  I used Avery Elle pigment inks to color my images.

The new part of the card is the technique at the very bottom of the front.  I used some striped acetate from WRMK and I love the way it took the card from ok to WOW!

My sentiment is from Clearly Besotted and of course I added in some Pretty Pink Posh sequins to make a grand finish!

See you tomorrow.

Have a Sweet Birthday

Happy Monday!

The new Eyelet Outlet brads are on the website now!  There are SOOOOO many cute new ones.

I couldn't resist using the Canister brads for my card today.  I love the bright white jars with the red and blue accents.  Mwah!!

Here is what I used to make my card:

Enamel Dot - Eyelet Outlet
Patterned Paper - Close to My Heart
Card Stock - Neenah Solar White
Wood Veneer Paper - My Mind's Eye
Sentiment Stamp - Lawn Fawn
Circle Die - MFT Stamps

Have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow!

Get Well Soon

Happy Sunday!

I borrowed this die set from a friend of mine and never really did anything with the little pieces I cut out until now.  The set is called Spring Garden is from MFT Stamps.

Everything was cut from white card stock since I didn't really know what I would end up doing with all the tiny pieces.  I ended up coloring all the pieces with Copic markers and then assembling a little scene.

This was a fun process - although a bit challenging for me.  So there you go.  A fun little garden scene for you.

See you tomorrow!

Digital Saturday #27 - Sprinkler Fun

Hello Saturday Friend!

Here's a very current layout of my sweet and silly grandsons with their equally silly grandpa.  He invited them over to do some "hard work" and they were totally cooperative when "fixing the sprinklers".  It was fun watching and photographing all of this until they decided Grandma needed to get a little wet too!!

It was a great adventure and I wouldn't trade the time with these boys for anything!

See you tomorrow.

You are a 24 Karat Friend

Happy Friday!

I was finally able to photograph some of my gold paper and embellishments without too much glare.  Not even sure how that happened, but I'm glad it did!

My sentiment and die cuts are from  Ellen Hutson.  I added in some purple foil because purple fits the recipient of this card to a T.

This is a simple card and it was fun to make too, so I count it a total win.

See you tomorrow!

Color Throwdown #355 - Sending Happy Thoughts With Love

Happy Thursday!

I'm sharing my Color Throwdown card with you today. This week's colors are sure to cool you down if you are still sweatin' out the summer like those of us in Texas!

Here is this week's color palette:

I found this cute light bulb stamp at Tuesday Morning.  I rarely will pick up a single image stamp like this, but I thought it was too cute to pass up. I used Avery Elle pigment ink to stamp my image and just lightly colored in some shadowing with Copic markers.

You still have plenty of time left to create and share your project.  You can click right here for the link to participate.

Happy Birthday

Happy Wednesday!

Today's card is a remake of one I did a few months ago.  It originally was a 4th of July card, but it didn't sell, so I brought it home and reworked it.

I added an extra little bird on my crazy bird's tail, some wiggle eyes and some blue bling.

I hope you like my little redo.  I can't get enough of these crazy birds.  They are just too cute!

See you tomorrow.

A is for Awesome

Happy Tuesday!

As promised....a non summer card.  I think this would be a great encouragement card for a child just starting school.  New places can be scary and what a fun surprise to come home to a card letting your sweet student know you are proud of him!

See you tomorrow.

Just a Little Note From Me to You

Hello Monday Friends!

Today's card stems from my desire for summer NOT to be almost over.  I mean, she IS wearing an adorable little sundress.  I love that she is holding an Eyelet Outlet daisy (bright) brad and has a mini lady bug brad or two at her feet.  And for good luck, she also has a dragonfly (bright) brad flying by.

I'm not sure I am ready to admit that school starts soon and I'll have less grandchild time.  Sigh.....

But good things happen in the fall...so maybe tomorrow I'll try to NOT have a summer card!

See you then.

Hello Gorgeous

Happy Sunday!

Have you ever just wanted to try something you JUST saw online?  Me too!  That's how that HELLO die cut (from Simon Says Stamp) ended up with three shades of pink on it.

I just used some Altenew ink cubes to blend light to dark on my die cut.  I've only tried the pink so far....but I have more color ideas for the future!

I used the same pink cubes for the flower (also Altenew) and just cut around it before mounting it on foam tape.

SUPER fun and easy card that packs a punch!

See you tomorrow.

Digital Saturday #26 - You Were Made for Amazing Things

Happy Saturday!

I decided to resume my Digital Saturday feature here on the blog.  I am presently working on a 2014 book for my grandsons.  It is fun to look back at photos and then realize how much they have grown in just one year.

See you tomorrow with a fun new card.

You can link up your creation at the Christmas Stampin' All Year Long blog.   You have until midnight August 18, 2015 to link up.  Have fun and I'll see you over at the blog.

Color Throwdown #354 - Miss You

Happy Thursday!

I'm sharing my Color Throwdown card with you today. At first I just couldn't figure out what to do with this week's colors.  But then I decided to just go with it and I am actually happy with the results!

Here is this week's color palette:

I used stamps and dies from MFT Stamps to make this very simple card and I can't wait to see what everyone else makes for this week's challenge.  You still have plenty of time left to create and share your project.  You can click right here for the link to participate.

Mr. & Mrs.

Happy Wednesday!

If someone can tell me how to photograph a card with foil on it, I would love to know!

My hearts are rainbow foil and the paper is gold foil.  But I just couldn't get a good picture.  So sorry!

But in person (trust me), this really is a pretty card.

See you tomorrow - (no foil!!)

Smile

Happy Tuesday!

I am having the best time with the stamps and dies from MFT Stamps' last release.  The set I used here is called Things With Wings.

I could easily make 25 more cards just using this set!

Can we agree that this fluffy little bird about to take a bath is the cutest?  I do hope he makes you smile!

See you tomorrow!

Are You Cured Yet?

Hello Monday Friends!

I had the best time making this card.  All of the stamps and dies are from MFT Stamps.  This stamp set was from their May release.

With our big move, I haven't been able to utilize all the stamps I've ordered, but that is all changing now.   Creating in my new studio is pure joy!

You will probably see this cute set again very soon! I already have plans for some more cards.

Have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow.

Thanks

Happy Sunday!

I've been taking the newest Online Card Class which is all about backgrounds.  Jennifer McGuire showed this fun technique of inlaying a die cut sentiment over a die cut shape.  I had to try it right away and I love the way it looks!

It took me two tries to get it right...but I finally did.  I'll be doing this again!

You can see inside the card it says "for all you do" which completes the "thanks" sentiment.

Have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow.

Color Throwdown Challenge #353 - Thank You

Happy Saturday!

I'm sharing my Color Throwdown card with you today.  I have to admit, what I know about water coloring could fit inside a small thimble.  But I decided to try it anyway.  I learned quite a bit from this card.  The most important thing I learned is when it is done, don't throw it away because it looks dreadful.  Give it plenty of time to dry and then go over it adding in small details.  THEN decide if it's a keeper.

Here is this week's color palette which I think is just gorgeous!

I can't wait to see what everyone makes for this week's challenge.  You still have some time left to create and share your project.  You can click right here for the link to join the party.

See you tomorrow!!
