LRW Challenge #283 - Jelly Bean Love

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for Challenge #283 at Little Red Wagon.  It was my turn to choose this week's theme and I decided to go with a pretty popular trend - animals.  I am calling this week's challenge, CALL THE VET. But don't worry - no need for a doctor, just use an animal on your project.

I made my cute little bunny card with the Jelly Belly image from Whimsie Doodles. I colored him with Copic markers and added three mats to make him really stand out. I added a few enamel dots and gems to finish my card and give it a little dimension.

Be sure to check out what all the LRW Girlfriends have created this week.  The links are to the right (and then scroll down a little) of this post.

Once you have been totally inspired, be sure to create your project and link it up on the Little Red Wagon blog.  I hope you'll play along with us this week!

See you tomorrow.  Until then, have a wonderful day!!

To One of my Favorite Peeps

Hello Tuesday Friends!

We sure are getting close to Easter now.  I have more Easter stamps than days left until the bunny arrives, so I'll have to save some of them 'til next year!

This little cutie just makes me smile.  The stamps and dies (except the Favorite Peeps sentiment) are from Spring Fling by Paper Smooches.  The adorable sentiment is from Candy Jar Companions  by MFT Stamps.

I think it is super fun to mix stamps and dies from various companies.  Do you ever do that?

Well, have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow.

Baked with Love

Happy Monday!

It's time for this month's Color Challenge at Eyelet Outlet.  I instantly fell in love with this month's colors:

To make my tag, I brought the color palette photo into Photoshop and selected five of the six colors and made them into wide lines.  Once printed, I just cut my paper into a tag shape and created this fun little tag which would be the perfect addition to a homemade baked gift.

The little mixer brad is part of the Mixer and Cup brads set.  Isn't that green just wonderful?  There are other colors in the set too so I am sure I'll be thinking up more ideas for these cuties.

I hope you will play along with us this month on the Eyelet Outlet Blog.  It's always fun to be part of this challenge!

See you tomorrow!

Imagination

Happy Sunday!

I subscribe to lots of blogs and YouTube channels that feature card making.  It helps me stay inspired and up to date with the newest products and techniques.

A few weeks ago I noticed this video by Laurie Willison on YouTube and I knew I had to try it.  Laurie says this isn't a new technique...but I WILL tell you it is really impactful.  This is the second card I've done with this technique.  And it won't be my last.  I just love the way it looks.

I hope you enjoy the video and if you do, be sure to subscribe to Laurie's channel.

See you tomorrow!

Digital Saturday #24 and Color Throwdown #335

Hello My Saturday Friends!

Today's post will serve double duty.  First of all this layout is the newest one in my current Digital Saturday series.  I wanted to showcase a few recent photos of Caleb and Andrew.  None of the pictures relate to each other - but they are all a big part of everyday life....so that's how I decided to scrapbook them.

Because I am away from home all week, I didn't think I could play along with the Color Throwdown challenge and that made me sad....until I realized I could still use the colors - but on a digital layout instead of a card.

So here are this weeks beautiful colors:

I loved seeing what all the designers did with this challenge.  And you should play along this too - there is still plenty of time!  You can click right here for the link.

You're So Very Sweet

Happy Friday!

If you love simple and sweet, this card is for you!

One day when I had the Fruitilicious stamp set from Clearly Besotted out, I stamped and die cut all of the fruit images.  So the other day, I spotted these cherries and a small scrap of striped paper and I knew I had a winning combination!

My cards are usually much more elaborate, so when I find a simple card that I really like, I get excited! I'll probably make some more of these soon because I still have more fruit images in my little "stamp pile".  I'll be sure to show them to you when I get more done.

See you tomorrow!

Somebunny Loves You

Happy Thursday!

What a fantastic week I've had so far. I am babysitting two sweet grandsons until late Saturday. I love their energy and activity. What a change from my stay at home retirement life!!

My card today was so much fun to make. I love the bright colors and the My Favorite Things stamps and dies.

I finished my card by adding some Mini Stitched Flower brads from Eyelet Outlet.

Have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow!

LRW Challenge 282 - One Amazing Friend

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for Challenge #282 at Little Red Wagon.  I love this week's challenge.  Carolyn is calling it You're a Star and you guessed it, we need stars on our cards.

I used a star stamp from PaperTrey Ink and layered it with a "one" die cut to tie in my sentiment..

This is a really fun challenge so be sure to check out what all the girlfriends have created this week.  The links are to the right (and then scroll down a little) of this post.

Once you have been totally inspired, be sure to create your project and link it up on the Little Red Wagon blog.  I hope you'll play along with us this week!

The yellow and aqua color palette photo that inspired me is from PaperTrey Ink's monthly blog hop:

I thought it would be fun to play along with the hop today.   If you want to play too, just follow this link.

Being Unique

Happy Tuesday!

Here is another "any occasion" card I whipped up using stamps and dies from Reverse Confetti.

The technique I used to stamp my focal point and my die cut is super fun so I have linked to a video showing you how right here.

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow.

Butterfly Love

Happy Monday!

Sometimes I need cards that are "any occasion".  So I've started making a few now and then.

The panel of butterflies was easy to ink up in four colors using my MISTI tool.  If you don't have one yet, and you are a stamper, be sure to check out the link to the right of this post!  You will be happy you did.

Have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow!

Sweet Wishes

Happy Sunday!

Here is a simple little card for you.

I used stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn for my focal image.  I just love the sentiment with the cookie jar.  Who wouldn't?

I thought this would be a fun card to send "just because".

Have a great day and I'll see you right back here tomorrow.

Bringing You Easter Wishes

Hello Saturday Friends!

I am having so much fun coloring spring images!

Today I used the Whimsie Doodles Bunny's Basket image as the focal point of my card  I think this is the cutest bunny ever!  A real charmer.

I rarely (if ever) use the color purple.  It took me a few tries to get this one right, but I'm glad I kept trying.  She is coming your way to wish you a happy spring and a happy Easter too.

I hope you have some fun crafting and coloring time today.  It's in my plans for sure!

See you tomorrow!

Color Throwdown Challenge #334 - Happy Mother's Day

Happy Thursday!

I'm sharing my Color Throwdown card for the week today.  Wait until you see this week's color palette.  It is bright and cheerful and fun!

I honestly tried to make this a one layer card.  I saw Kristina Werner do this round masking technique and I wanted to try it.  And I LOVED it.....but then I wondered what a die cut circular frame would look like on the design.  Ooops - two layers!  Oh well, I'll try again some day!  By the way this is the stamp set I used on this card.  It is from Simon Says Stamp.

I can't wait to see what everyone did with this challenge.  And you should play along this too - there is still plenty of time!  You can click right here for the link.

See you tomorrow!!

LRW Challenge 281 - Make a Wish

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for another Little Red Wagon challenge and Tracy is our hostess.  She wants to see cards that are ALL TIED UP.  So we are to use bows or ribbon or twine.  In other words, use some sort of tying medium.

I truly can't tell you who made the birthday stamp I used.  It was one I HAD TO HAVE, but had never used.  I thought it would work perfectly as a backdrop for my vase of happy flowers.  I stamped the birthday words in black onto a MFT Stamps die cut.

Then I die cut and colored my vase and used dimensional tape to add it to the front.  I used some baker's twine to tie around the white layer and then tied it into a bow at the neck of the vase.

Be sure to check out what all the girlfriends have created this week.  The links are to the right (and then scroll down a little) of this post. Once you have been totally inspired, be sure to create your project and link it up on the Little Red Wagon blog.  I hope you'll play along with us this week!

Lucky Me...I Have You

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I guess I'll put my shamrock die away for a year...but at least I was able to use it one more time! I thought it would be fun to have it poking out of a bowl.

I added a heart brad from the Eyelet Outlet Hearts brads set. I just love this set because it has a variety of heart shapes and colors.

I added just a bit of green Pearl Bling to finish my card and I think it is super...you know...magically delicious!

I'll see you here tomorrow!!

Sending Thanks

Happy Monday!

As always, Mondays are a chance to begin again.  Isn't that wonderful?

My card today features some gold foil.  I love printing out solid images on my laser printer and then covering them with gold foil using a laminating machine.  It is fun EVERY time I do it.

I just purchased a bunch of new colors, so look for some more foiling projects soon!

See you tomorrow.

Whimsie Doodles March Challenge - Happy Spring

Hello Sunday Friends!

Guess what's happening today!!  That's right - it's time for a brand new challenge at Whimsie Doodles!

This month's challenge theme is PUTTING A SPRING IN YOUR STEP.  I don't know how much more spring you can get than a sweet little Easter bunny!

I used the Carrotalot image for my card and let her stand on some die cut grass inside a dimensional frame. I added a few sequins and a bit of bling to finish my card. I have to say that I love how it turned out.  So springy!!

Now it's YOUR turn to get creative.  Click here for all the info on submitting your beautiful creation for this month's challenge.  You have until April 13th to submit....but why not get started right away?

See all of the Doodlelicious Diva's projects on the Whimsie Doodle blog today.  You will be inspired for sure!!

I'll be back tomorrow and I hope I'll see you then.

Digital Saturday #23

Happy Saturday!

I thought I would share a layout from my 2014 Project Life album.  I sometimes forget the little moments in our lives - like finding two awesome paintbrushes at an estate sale, or having to delete a game app on my iPad that was just too addicting.

Taken one at a time these seem so insignificant.  But all these little remembrances really do add up to the whole of our lives. So indeed they are valuable.  And truly I don't really want to forget just how valuable they are.  Therefore, I scrapbook.

See you tomorrow!

St Patty's Day Pinwheels

Hello Friday Fans!

Just a quick post to share my pretty green shamrock pinwheels with you.

I am totally in love with my WRMK Pinwheel Punch Board and making pinwheels with transparency paper on one layer makes them even better!

This little treasure went to a friend who is in the hospital right now.  Every time I see her, there are her pinwheels proudly displayed.  I love that it brings her a bit of happiness and a reminder that she is loved.

I'll see you tomorrow.

Color Throwdown #333 - Thank You

Happy Thursday!

I'm sharing my Color Throwdown card for the week today.  Wait until you see this week's color palette.  It is just so lovely!

I hardly ever use any shade of purple, but I knew I could still do it!  The little butterfly I used is from an older Tim Holtz stamp set called Papillon.  When I bought it, I just HAD to have it, but when I used it, I realized it was the first time it ever saw ink.  Ooops!

I can't wait to see what everyone did with this challenge.  And you should play along this too - there is plenty of time!  You can click right here for the link.

LRW Challenge #280 - Have an Out of This World Birthday

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for another Little Red Wagon challenge and Jan R is our hostess.  She wants to see cards that make us go, 'Awwwwww'.  Our theme is CUTE CUTE CUTE this week. So basically, we are suppose to make a card that is cute.  I think I succeeded!

I used some of the Space Cadets images from Whimsie Doodles to build a fun scene.  What little boy wouldn't enjoy a birthday card with some aliens front and center?

I added some googly eyes and also some Glossy Accents on some of the images after I colored them with Copic markers. I don't make too many masculine cards....but now I don't know why.  I really had fun making this one!

Be sure to check out what all the girlfriends have created this week.  The links are to the right (and then scroll down a little) of this post. Sparkle & Shine Challenge #1 - Happy Spring

Hello My Tuesday Friends!

I am super excited about today's card because I'll be entering it over at the Sparkle and Shine Challenge.  Here is the inspiration for this very first challenge:

I used some green foil paper for my shamrock and part of my frame.  I thought it would add some additional shine to my card.  Of course I used sequins for my sparkle inside the shaker.  I do love shakers and sequins, oh my!!

The driving force behind this challenge blog is Paulina over at Pretty Pink Posh.  Seriously, who doesn't love her?  She inspired the challenge blog and is even offering a prize this time.  Sweet!!  She  has the most beautiful sequins in her shop and is offering a gift certificate to one lucky winner.

So have a wonderful day and I'll see you tomorrow!

Happy Spring!

Happy Monday!!

I thought it would be fun to share a card that focuses on some fun brads from Eyelet Outlet.

I die cut my little jar (from Lawn Fawn) and filled it with some adorable bugs. I used the Mini Ladybug brads  and the Mini Bee brads.  Then I decided they might need to eat something, so I brought in some Mini Leaf brads too. I added a bit of Eyelet Outlet bling and I love the way the whole card turned out! It is making me really look forward to spring!

Are you hoping for spring?  Me too.  But today it is rainy and cold.  Maybe tomorrow it will be warmer and sunnier!

See you soon!

Color Throwdown Challenge #332 - Thank You

Happy Sunday!

I'm sharing my Color Throwdown card for the week today.  Wait until you see this week's color palette.  It just sort of makes me smile!

I am once again falling in love with the foiling technique.  I even bought a more powerful laminator and the foil is sticking perfectly now.  The branch and the lettering are both made with a beautiful aqua foil, but there wasn't enough sun shining to get the perfect picture of that.  I love the simplicity of this card.  Just the foil and a few gems.  Perfect pairing!

I can't wait to see what everyone did with this challenge.  And you should play along this too.  You can click right here for the link.

See you tomorrow!!

Digital Saturday #22

Happy Saturday!

Today's layout is not current at all.  It is from an event in 2013.  Caleb got to try his hand at painting ceramics.  He really was too young at 4, but he still had plenty of fun and it was a good introduction into painting for him.

I love making layouts about my grandkids.  I am behind (who isn't)?  But one day I'll catch up!!

See you tomorrow!

Hi There

Happy Thursday!

It's time for March's new release at Whimsie Doodles. There are some great springtime digi stamps for you this month.  Be sure to take a look.  I think you will find them irresistible!

My card for the new release uses Lucky Abby which you can find right here.  I loved coloring her in her St. Patty's Day finest and then adding some dark gold foil accents.

When you are checking out the newest images, be sure to take a peek at what all the Doodlelicious Divas have created too!  Such a talented group of ladies!  If you love digis and you love to color, you will certainly be inspired when you take a look.

Have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow.

LRW Challenge #279 - I Only Have Eyes for You

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for Challenge #279 at Little Red Wagon.

Joanne is our hostess this week and she is all excited about Birds of a Feather.  In other words, she wants to see some birds or feathers...or both.

My little birds are from a Lawn Fawn stamp set called Science of Love.  I guess my birds are nerd bird scientists!!

I just love this challenge and I think you will too. So be sure to check out what all the girlfriends have created this week.  The links are to the right (and then scroll down a little) of this post.

Once you have been totally inspired, be sure to create your project and link it up on the Little Red Wagon blog.  I hope you'll play along with us this week!

Somebunny Loves You

Happy Tuesday!

I can't get enough of the new MFT Somebunny stamp set (and matching dies of course)!  I thought it would be fun to make a card using lots of kraft card stock.  I even decided to stamp my little bunny on kraft and I love how she turned out.

I knew I needed a little extra color on the card, so I used two rows of green Washi tape and one pink stamped heart to finish off my card.  And right at the end, I decided to add three little black enamel dots to tie in the sentiment I had stamped using black ink.

So remember.....somebunny DOES love you!

See you tomorrow.

Everything is Better When Shared with a Friend

Happy Monday!

I thought I'd make a masculine card for this month's Eyelet Outlet Color Challenge.

Here is our color inspiration:

I die cut my little bucket and then filled it with fish (brads) and then leaned some fishing pole (brads) next to it.  I just love the way it turned out.

I hope you will play along with us this month on the Eyelet Outlet Blog.

See you tomorrow!
