Merry Christmas

 Happy Thursday!

The final Color Throwdown challenge for 2014 is here!  Yippee!  It actually started yesterday, but I've been a little under the weather...so I am a day later than usual posting. I am so hooked on Color Throwdown and I love making a card each week based on the current color palette.

My card today is a mixture of some of my favorite companies' products.  I've got some MFT Stamps here and also some Simon Says Stamp I threw in some enamel dots and bling from Eyelet Outlet and sequins from Pretty Pink Posh...and this is what I got.

Here is a look at this week's colors:

I hope you will play along with this week's challenge.  And remember, you don't have to have the exact colors.  I think mine are not quite as muted as the color palette this week. But they always tell us to just use the closest match you have.  So have fun and get to creating!

See you tomorrow!!

Joyful Wishes

Happy Wednesday!

Today's Christmas card uses a few images from all my favorites.  The stitched panels are from MFT Stamps, the tree, the snowdrifts and heart are from Simon Says Stamp and everything else is from Lawn Fawn.

Way to mix it up into a fun card, I think!!

See you tomorrow!

Merry Christmas

Hello Tuesday Friends!

Today on the Eyelet Outlet blog, we are having an "anything goes" kind of day.  I chose to showcase the Eyelet Outlet enamel dots (and stars).  They are just absolutely perfect because they are a lower profile than most enamel dots on the market.

I used a cut file from Silhouette for my vintage TV.  Isn't it adorable?  I used an inlay technique so that everything on the front of the card is one layer.  The only additional layer is the flurry of enamel dots.

I hope you like today's shaker card.  I loved making it for sure!  Be sure to check on all of Eyelet Outlets' wonderful products - especially the enamel dots - you really need them!

See you tomorrow.

Peas on Earth

Hello Monday!

I have some fun news for you and also a fun card to share.

I was selected to become a design team member for Whimsie Doodles.  What an honor!  This is a super fun digital stamp company and I'll get to play with all their designs...and show them all to you too.  I'll post both here on my blog and also on the Whimsie Doodles blog.  Today is the day that the team announcement takes place...so you can check out that post and meet all my new friends too.

My card....Peas on Earth - Good Will Toward Men makes me giggle.  I don't really know anyone who likes to eat peas, but they were super fun to color!  You can see the black and white digital image right here (scroll down toward the bottom of the page).

I hope you have a wonderful day and I'll be right back here tomorrow.

Warmst Wishes

 Happy Sunday!

Today is the last  Cupcake Inspirations Challenge for 2014.  Our theme this week is Winter Wonderland.  I combined a few images from this week's sponsor to make my winter scene.  It just took a little Photoshop maneuvering to get it done.

And here is our inspiration photo:

We are sponsored this week by Deasy Designs.
This is an Etsy shop and she has some wonderful digital images to share with you.  Be sure to take a look!

What will you design this week?  Be sure to make a plan to play along with us.  You can click here for the link.

Digital Saturday #13

Hello Saturday Friends!

So here we are at Week #13 of my digital series.  This layout is one I did when I very first started to  scrapbook digitally.  This little girl is most likely a pre-teen by now. She is the granddaughter of one of my former coworkers.  When I look at this layout, I see things I would do differently now.  But I still think it is lovely.

I hope you are enjoying all the Christmas cards and layouts lately.  I still have plenty more to share.

See you tomorrow!

Merry

Happy Friday!

Here's a quick and easy shaker card for you!  The tree die is from MFT Stamps. and it really does all the work here!

I started out by using an embossing folder to emboss my white card stock.  Then I dropped some gold paint on it - just some splatters here and there.  I DO NOT like to get dirty, so dropping spatters of paint is a stretch for me.  Then I die cut the tree into the center of the card stock.  I added a transparency behind the tree to make the window.

Next I built my shaker by applying very thin strips of dimensional foam tape around the open portions of the tree.  I filled each section with some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and then added my sentiment tag and some twine.

All that was left was to add it to my gold card base.

EASY PEASY!!

I hope you are looking forward to your weekend and I hope it will be terrific!

See you tomorrow!

Holiday Hello

Hi Everyone!

Here it is Thursday already.  I hope you've had a great week so far.

I've been a busy girl in my studio this week making lots of Christmas cards.  I am so excited that I'll have a Christmas project to share with you right up to (and including) Christmas day.

Today's card is another shaker - this time with seed beads.

The digital snowman image is from a wonderful company called Whimsie Doodles.  I love that it says "chillin' with my snowmies!" right under the image.  You can find this image right here.  But don't stop there....you will find all sorts of terrific digital images at Whimsie Doodles.

The red and white paper has some embossed glitter on it (swoon) and the green paper is metallic.  Both are from paper pads I bought at Michaels.  I don't buy many paper pads, but I really am glad I bought these two.  The greeting is from Simon Says Stamp and those little enamel dots are from Eyelet Outlet.  They have the best enamel dots because they have a fairly low profile which is perfect for card makers like me.

So that's it for today.  Be sure to come back tomorrow.  See you then!

Season's Greetings

Happy Wednesday!

The Color Throwdown challenge for the week is here and that always makes for a great Wednesday!

Once I saw this week's colors, I knew right away which paper pad to choose.  All of the papers I used are from Lawn Fawn.  They are terrific in their color coordination.  The little stamped and embossed mittens in the shaker are from MFT Stamps.  The sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh.

Here is a look at this week's colors.  I just love the vintage palette.

I hope you will play along with this week's challenge.  This is the very first day of the challenge, so you have plenty of time to make something fun.  And remember, you don't have to have the exact colors.  They always tell us to just use the closest match you have.  So have fun and get to creating!

Let It Snow

Hello Tuesday Friends!

I loved making today's card.  I love to color and this little gal from MFT Stamps is a dream to color.  I had the best time trying to get everything shadowed and I might have even succeeded.  Anyway, the little girl and the moon die cuts are both from MFT Stamps.  I cut the slopes using dies from Simon Says Stamp.  The patterned papers are from last year's Lawn Fawn six by six Christmas paper pad.  Of course I had to add some sequins to represent the snow my sweetie is trying to catch in her coat.  They are from Pretty Pink Posh.

I have this gal ready to color again, but I think I will wait until January and use some light pinks and greys.

I wanted to mention that I rarely make a card without using my Perfect Layers tools and my MISTI.  Be sure to check out the links to the right of this post to find out more about these great tools. You will be hooked once you start using them!

I hope you have a wonderful day and I'll see you right back here tomorrow.

A Gift For You

Hello Monday Friends!

Isn't it fun to make your own gift tags?  I've made some fancy ones, but I thought I'd share this very simple one with you today.

The white tag base is from Pretty Pink Posh.  I cut it a few times - once each from white, red and green card stock.  I used the white as the base and added in the windows from the other colors.  Then I added fun holiday brads from Eyelet Outlet and a little label that I used for my sentiment.

I matted the completed white base with a larger red tag and then drew the twine through the little hole.

This is such an easy project and really could be made for lots of different occasions just by changing the colors and the brads.

I hope you have a marvelous Monday and I'll see you right back here tomorrow for more holiday fun!

Merry and Bright

Happy Friday!

I am very excited to share today's card with you.

I always read Laura Bassen's blog and she had the most amazing card that really inspired me.  You can see it right here.  Sadly, I watched her video AFTER I finished my card.  I made it SO much more complicated than it needed to be!  Her method was genius....mine took three times longer than it should have!

Anyway, I just love how it turned out.  It is super dimensional and the colors just make me happy!  If you want to make a similar one, do yourself a favor and watch the video on Laura's blog.  Seriously!

See you tomorrow.

Jingle All The Way

Hello My Thursday Friends!

When I received my last order from MFT Stamps, I couldn't wait to dig in and use it all.  And I wanted to use EVERY stamp in two of the sets - Jingle All The Way and Christmas Cuteness!!  I didn't actually use them ALL on this card, but I did use quite a few from both sets..  I arranged the stamps on my MISTI (check that out here) and stamped my main panel.  Then I stamped them again so I could cut out the reindeer and presents to make the card more dimensional.

Once I had everything colored, I stacked up my panels and then added the popped up reindeer and presents.  My finishing touches were the twine and the sequins.

Since I still had all my stamps arranged on my MISTI, I wondered if I could do the same design using silver embossing powder.  So I stamped another panel with Versamark Ink and then embossed it.  I added just a few touches of Copic marker to this card.  In person this second card is super shiny, but the camera didn't pick that up too well.

So this is the beauty of using a MISTI.  It is super easy to make multiples of the same card - which certainly works out well during this season!  Here is a picture of the MISTI.  If you are a stamper, you are going to want one of these on your "need to purchase soon" list.  Not only is making multiples easy, but you will never misstamp again.  You will get perfect placement every time.

Have a wonderful day and I'll be right back here tomorrow.

Merry Christmas - Snowman Style

Happy Wednesday!

The Color Throwdown challenge for the week is here!  Yippeeeee!

I decided to make a tag using this week's colors.  I used a Meljen's Designs digital snowman stamp and then made a fun shaker with it.  I added it to a diecut gold tag which I then matted with some glittery silver striped paper and then embellished with some scallops, bling and a sentiment.  I love the way the sequins shake inside!

Here is a look at this week's colors. Do they inspire you to create something shimmery?

I hope you will play along with this week's challenge.  This is the very first day of the challenge, so you have plenty of time to make something fun.  And remember, you don't have to have the exact colors.  They always tell us to just use the closest match you have.  So have fun and get to creating!

I am also going to link this up on the Meljen's Challenge for the week since I used one of their images on a tag.

Be Merry

Merry Tuesday!

I hope your week has started off well.

Here's a fun card for you.  I wish you could tell that the red paper is metallic and the silver is glittery...but I just wasn't able to capture those effects. In real life, this is a VERY shiny card!

The MERRY is from MFT Stamps.  I am not sure whose dies the letter dies are....  The little penguin is a stamp and die set from Mama Elephant.  I fell in love with this set the moment I saw it.  It even comes with little hats for the penguins to wear.  How cute is that?

Have a merry day and I'll see you tomorrow.

Brrr....Merry Christmas

Hello Monday Friends!

I've been busy decorating the house for Christmas.  I like to put a touch of the holiday in every room.  So I do small vignettes here and there.  Today I just have a little bit to finish and then the hunt to find a place to store my non-Christmas items is on.  I think of it as a rebuilding day.  And when today is done, I can enjoy the holidays no matter where I go in my house.

I wanted to let you know about Eyelet Outlet's Pinned on Pinterest Challenge.  Below is the challenge palette  and above is the card I made for the challenge.  All of my supplies are from MFT Stamps and Eyelet OutletYou have until December 28th to enter.  All of the details on how to link your project are on the Eyelet Outlet blog.

Be sure to pop on over to the blog to see what the design team has created to inspire you.

Digital Saturday Week #11

Happy Saturday!

It's another day in digi land!  Last week I showed you a totally current layout, so this week I thought I would reach back and grab one from five years ago.  This is Caleb's first Christmas.  We had no idea then that he would become a big brother.  But we already knew he would be a blessing to our family.

It's fun to look back.  Don't you think?  It is so important to retain our pictures and if we are lucky enough to scrapbook, then to document our lives for new generations to see.

Have a terrific Saturday and I'll see you tomorrow!

Merry Christmas

Happy Friday!

Well...Thanksgiving is behind us now, so it's full steam ahead for Christmas card postings.

Unless something else HAS to be posted on my blog, I will be sharing Christmas cards and projects right through Christmas day.

This little card was quick and easy.  Everything except the sequins and the "Christmas" stamp is from MFT Stamps.  The stamp is from Ellen Hutson.  The sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh.

OK - off to make some more cards to share.

See you tomorrow!!

Happy Holidays

Happy Wednesday!

The Color Throwdown challenge for the week is here!  Yippeeeee!

This card was really just a bunch of experimentation.  I used a background stamp, Versamark ink and white embossing powder to create the background.  I hadn't done that in a long time.  Then I wasn't all that sure about the Happy Holidays diecut.  It was very thin....but it worked perfectly.  The rest was easy - just a matter of getting everything centered the way I wanted it.  So I guess all my experimentation worked out!

Here is a look at this week's colors. What will you create?

I hope you will play along with this week's challenge.  This is the very first day of the challenge, so you have plenty of time to make something fun.  And remember, you don't have to have the exact colors.  They always tell us to just use the closest match you have.  So have fun and get to creating!

Warm Winter Wishes

Hello Tuesday Friends!

Thank you for coming by today for the PaperTrey Ink blog hop.  I love having visitors!

This month's challenge was to make a project around a snow theme.  So I pulled out a really small stamp set that had snowflakes in it.  Sometimes it is hard to figure out how to use small images, but a shaker card is usually my answer!

I added the gold accents on this card and I just love how it turned out.  I hope you like it too.

Don't forget, you can play along too.  Just create your project and link it up right here.

See you tomorrow!

Merry Christmas

Hello Again Monday!

I just got these train and holiday saying bubble brads from Eyelet Outlet and I couldn't wait to use them on a card.  I built up my winter scene using dies from both MFT Stamps and Simon Says Stamp.  Then I went old school and punched a bunch of white circles for the snow.

I lined up all of my train cars and attached them to the lowest hill.  Then I added the MERRY Christmas saying bubble brad.  Before I adhered my panel to my card front, I added some Eyelet Outlet bling (for coal) and some twine for the bow.

It took me a few tries to get this card the way I wanted it, but I have to say, I pretty much love it!

Be sure to check out all the brads and bling (and flowers and Washi tape and ribbon) from Eyelet Outlet.  It's a super cool site with plenty of inspiration too.

And speaking of inspiration, check out the Eyelet Outlet Blog.  This week there will be plenty of holiday inspiration to enjoy.

See you tomorrow!

Digital Saturday Week #10

Happy Saturday!

It's another day in digi land!  Today I have a very recent layout to share with you.  Just a few weeks ago these little Ninja Turtles were at the church's fall festival.  Of course I think they were the cutest ones there.  Next I'll be scrapping their trick or treat adventure...and I am really looking forward to that.

Take care and I'll see you tomorrow!

The Tradition Continues

Happy Friday!

I love Fridays because it is the day that new Jenni Bowlin product is released at Snap Click Supply!

This is the sister website to Jessica Sprague where so many beautiful products are for sale.  If you haven't seen the site yet, be sure to take a look today.  It is worth the trip!

I used the brand new Jenni Bowlin's Haven Cardstock for my layout.   Don't you just love the texture of that cardstock? The pack is just $2.24 this weekend.  I also used a patterned paper from the Haven Collection which coordinates perfectly.

New releases are always 20% off during their debut weekend, so be sure to hop on over to Snap Click Supply and take a look!

See you tomorrow.

Tags x 2

Hello Thursday Friends!

Do you make your own package tags?  It is a super fun way to use of some of your scraps and some smaller stamp images you may have.

The little penguin on the left is from Lawn Fawn.  Everything else is from Mama Elephant - the stamps and the dies.  These were really quick to put together.

I love that each character is holding a candy cane brad from Eyelet Outlet.  There is even a snowflake brad on the one on the right.  I love adding dimension with brads!

Have a great day and I'll see you right back here tomorrow.

Merry & Bright

Happy Wednesday!

The Color Throwdown challenge for the week is here!

I've been wanting to use this MERRY die since I got it from MFT Stamps.  When I saw this week's color palette, I knew I'd be using it.  I experimented with the color for the backing.  I vacillated between the navy and the pink...but finally chose the pink and then everything was a snap after that.  I love the way the card turned out.  I coated the MERRY and the BRIGHT letters with clear Wink of Stella, so they really sparkle.  What a fun card to make!

Happy Birthday

Happy Tuesday!

I finally found some time to play with last month's My Favorite Things release.  What I ordered was really Christmas themed, but I wanted to see if I could use it for other occasions.  Sure enough, the little girl and the present stamps from Jingle All The Way make perfect birthday images.  And the tag from the Tag Builder Blueprints 2 set is perfect too!  I love that the topper is separate so I could color it with the same makers I used on my little girl image.  FUN!!

So it all came together and I love the result. The HAPPY is a die that is on a line, so I was able to tuck the line behind the frame.  Easy peasy!  Of course I had to add some Pretty Pink Posh sequins too!

I hope you enjoy today's project.  I'll be right back here tomorrow with another one.
